Simplex BiDi transmission system includes one multiplexer and one de-multiplexer combined together into a single piece of equipment for bi-directional transmission over a single fiber.

The simplex bi-directional system is a flexible, low-cost solution that enables the expansion of existing fiber capacity and allows operators to make full of use of available fiber bandwidth in local loop and enterprise architectures. It can suit many kinds of applications and network solutions, such as Gigabit Ethernet, 10G Ethernet, SDH/SONET, ATM, ESCON, Fibre Channel, FTTx and CATV.

The CWDM MUX/DEMUX module is a universal device that can multiplex optical signals (up to 18 channels) into a fiber pair or single fiber. Gigalight offers full complete configuration such as 2, 4, 5, 8, 9, 16, 18 channels for passive CWDM modules together with CWDM transceivers and wavelength converters or transponders. With Gigalight's CWDM solutions, the bandwidth of the fiber can be utilized in a cost-effective way.

Gigalight offers three typical CWDM solutions for different simplex BiDi transmission systems.

1. The Type-A solution includes a pair of simplex CWDM MUX DEMUX modules and a pair of 1CH simplex CWDM OADM modules over a single fiber. In this situation, the Tx and Rx of the dual fiber CWDM transceivers use different wavelengths.

2. The Type-B solution includes a pair of simplex CWDM MUX DEMUX modules and a pair of 2CH simplex CWDM OADM modules over a single fiber, with optical circulators inside to realize bidirectional transmission. In this situation, the Tx and Rx of each dual fiber CWDM transceiver uses the same wavelength.

3. The Type-C solution includes a pair of simplex CWDM MUX DEMUX modules and a pair of 2CH simplex dual band CWDM OADM modules over a single fiber, with BiDi CWDM transceivers. In this situation, the Tx and Rx of single fiber BiDi CWDM transceivers use different CWDM wavelengths with at least 60nm spacing.

For the CWDM solutions mentioned above, Gigalight offers passive CWDM MUX DEMUX and CWDM OADM modules with different packages, including plastic ABS box, metal LGX cassette and 19-inch rack mount.
