Shenzhen, China, Feb 16th, 2016 – Gigalight has recently released low power versions of the second-generation 100G QSFP28 series: 100G QSFP28 SR4 optical transceiver and 100G QSFP28 Active Optical Cable. These new products will be introduced with Live Demo at the 41st OFC-the Optical Fiber Communication Exhibition in America.

Under CDR working condition, the power consumption of 100G QSFP28 SR4 GEN2 low power version in room temperature is 2W and in 70℃is 2.2W, which meet consumption level of SFF-8436 V4.8 MSA Power level 3 MAX POWER 2.5W. It’s conformed to IEEE 802.3bm 100GBASE SR4, InfiniBand EDR, and 32GFC protocol standard and also has downward compatibility to 10GE, completely useful for OM3 fiber 75m transfer and OM4 fiber 100m transfer. In actual test environment, according to stricter BER test standard(<15th power), there is no bit error found in transferring OM4 fiber. 100G QSFP28 SR4 adopts Gigalight original lens and optical engine technology, and integrates duplex 4 way 25Gbps data channel, as well as supports digital diagnosis. 100G QSFP28 SR4 optical module also has excellent eye pattern, receive sensitivity and electric eye joggle performance.
