Shenzhen, China, January 29, 2010 – Today, Gigalight announces the release of 10G SFP+ active cable.

The Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP+) Active Cables, also known as Twinax cables, are hot pluggable, providing a cost-effective low-power alternative to optical SFP+ systems, available lengths at 1m, 3m, 5m and up to 10m.

The cable assemblies use high-performance integrated duplex serial data links for bidirectional communication, directly connecting into SFP+ modules at both ends. They support multi-gigabit data rates from 1G up to 10.5G, and comply with the SFP mechanical (SFF-8431), electrical interface (SFF-8432), and SFP+ Multi-Source Alliance (MSA) standards.

Having zinc die-cast SFF-8431 SFP+ connectors with push-to-release latching, they are suitable for connecting network adapters, switches and routers in 10G Ethernet, Fiber Channel, InfiniBand & SONET racks and between adjacent racks.

Gigalight also announces that they will introduce 4X10G active cable based on QSFP package soon.
