MTP/MPO Cabling Solution for Data Center High-Density Cabling

To keep pace with the requirements on the bandwidth, data capacity and transmission rate higher in data centers(shown as the pic), 40Gb/s and 100Gb/s appear. However, it's obvious that double-core optic fiber used for 100M Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet cannot support them any more, unless particular codes and protocols are adopted. Besides, with the advent of high density cabling system in data center, a matter of dense cabling is also like a hot potato to them. For this issue, Gigalight publishes a new solution: MPO/MTP Cablings.

The MPO/MTP cables, generally used for 40GbE and 100GbE and designed for the reliable and quick operations in data centers, play a significant part of structured cabling. Their obvious benefits are with less space requirements and improved scalability, providing significant space and cost savings. Gigalight, as a cabling solution provider, obviously realized these. 1. MPO/MTP Trunk Cables

Generally speaking, MPO/MTP trunk cables serve as a permanent link connecting MPO/MTP modules to each other. The trunk cables are available with 12, 24, 48 and 72 fibers. A 72-fibers trunk cable can be terminated with 6 MPO/MTP connectors and the connectors are manufactured specifically for multi-fiber loose tube or ribbon cable.

MPO/MTP trunk cables are also used to interconnect cassettes, panels or ruggedized MPO fan-outs, spanning MDA, HDA and EDA areas, and to facilitate rapid deployment of high density backbone cabling in data centers and other high fiber environments reducing network installation or reconfiguration. They offer the flexibility in case that any decision is made to change the connector style in the patch panels; new cassettes can be installed with the new connector style on the cross-connecting side of the patch panel without changing the connector on the cable trunk.

2. MPO/MTP Harness Cable

The MPO/MTP harness cable is different from trunk cable, it works from trunk backbone assemblies to fiber rack system, when the trunk cable is for high density backbone cabling. MPO/MTP harness cables are designed to cater for up-scaling needs and future technologies growth, and it is proved to be the best solution for all fiber optic cabling needs in all areas of data center.

They offer Male and Female MPO/MTP connectors on each end, is available in 4~48 fibers versions as well as multi-mode (62.5/125, 10G OM2/OM3/OM4, bend-insensitive fiber, etc.) and single-mode (G652D, G657A1 etc.) fiber types. 4. MPO/MTP Hydra Cable

The Gigalight’s GigaC™ MPO / MTP hydra cable assemblies(click it to know more), are deployed inside plug and play cassette modules. This solution is a 12-colored 0.9mm cable utilizing a MPO / MTP connector on one end and generic connectors (such as LC, SC, FC, etc.) on the other end. They are available as a bundle with Gigalight's GigaC™ cassette modules(shown as the pic), MPO / MTP adapter plates, and other solutions. At the same times, they are also available in 8/12/24 fibers versions as well as Multi-mode (Standard 50/125, 62.5/125) and Single-mode fiber types.

5. MPO/MTP Cassette Modules

Modular system allows for rapid deployment of high-density data center infrastructure as well as improves troubleshooting and reconfiguration during it moves, adds and changes. The MPO/MTP cassettes are such modules which enable users to take the fibers brought by a trunk cable and distribute them to a duplex cable. As assembled units, the MPO cassette modules are fitted with 12 or 24 fibers and have LC, SC or E2000 adapters on the front side and MPO/MTP at the rear, this is to say, inside a standard LGX cassette module, there is a hydra cable.
