GIGALIGHT 12G-SDI video optical extenders support the long-distance transmission of independent 12G-SDI signals. The maximum transmission distance is up to 80 km at 3G-SDI data rates and up to 10 km or 20 km at 12G-SDI data rates, depending on the model. They support data rates ranging from 125 Mbps to 11.88 Gbps and are backward-compatible with MADI, DVB-ASI, SD-SDI, HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, and 6G-UHD-SDI formats.

3G-SDI Video Optical Extender

GIGALIGHT 3G-SDI video optical extenders are used to extend video transmission distance between SDI sources and receiver equipment over optical fiber. Equipped with 3G-SDI optical modules, the transmission distance can reach up to 60km/80km. The product consists of one transmitter and one receiver: the transmitter receives SDI video signals from the video source; the signal passes through a coaxial cable equalizer and is then converted into an optical signal for transmission over optical fiber. The receiver converts the optical signal back into SDI video signals and amplifies the video signal via a coaxial cable driver.

GIGALIGHT’s 16-channel 12G-SDI optical extender consists of a Transmitter and a Receiver interconnected over a two-fiber link. It transports 16 channels of 12G-SDI ultra-HD 4K video together with 2 independent Gigabit Ethernet signals. Each 12G-SDI input is equipped with a multi-rate cable equalizer and provides one 12G-SDI loop-through output per channel, while the output stage incorporates a built-in distribution amplifier with two 12G-SDI outputs per channel，and with 12G-SDI optical module, the transmission distance can be extended to 10km.

GIGALIGHT’s 1.6T optical transceiver solution with External Light Source decouples the laser source from the 1.6T OSFP224 transceiver. Light is supplied centrally by rack‑level or card‑level External Light Source (ELS) / Co‑packaged Light Source and fiber‑coupled to each pluggable module. The transceiver itself only retains modulators, photodetectors and essential electrical processing units, which significantly reduces the power dissipation per module.
