Shenzhen, China, January 4, 2022 – GIGALIGHT has announced to launch a series of Hardened Active Optical Cable (HAOC) products suitable for outdoor 5G base stations.
GIGALIGHT’s HAOC assembly is consist of a module part and a cable part. The module part adopts industrial-grade optoelectronic chips and supports industrial operating temperature range of -40 to +85°C (I-Temp). At the same time, the cable part adopts multi-mode outdoor armored optical cables, with armored protection for the optical fiber through imported reinforced spun fiber, small stainless steel hose, and braided mesh. The HAOC features dust-proof, moisture-proof, anti-pressure and anti-rodent-bite capabilities, so that the product can be deployed in the harsh outdoor environments of 5G fronthaul.
GIGALIGHT’s HAOC can be used for the data transmission in the base station and for the coordinated transmission between the base station group, and can also be used for edge data centers in certain humid and hot environments. Its reliability can reduce operation and maintenance costs, and it is a 5G fronthaul optical interconnection solution that allows customers to rest assured and satisfied.
