− The "ODCC Open Data Center Summit 2018" was held on October 16-17, in Beijing, China. As an advocate of open ecology, Gigalight actively participated in the ODCC open project and provided the "Phoenix project" with 100G open optical transceivers. The Gigalight 100G optical modules
with perfect compatibility passed the verification and assisted the successfully demonstration of the project.
Before that, the Gigalight 100G optical modules have passed the connectivity test of several cloud service providers
. The "Phoenix Project" is co-sponsored by Alibaba, Tencent, Baidu, JD, China Mobile, China Telecom, China Unicom, and CAICT to promote the China's "White Box & Open Source (OS)" ecology through the application demonstration of large users in the industry, and provide a complete and available Phoenix released version and software and hardware compatibility testing certification. As the main member of the optical transceiver manufacturers, Gigalight provided 100G optical transceivers for five of the eight switch manufacturers, all of which passed the verification, showing Gigalight's deep understanding of the ODCC open optical transceiver specification and the good compatibility of Gigalight 100G optical transceivers.
The leader of the ODCC network working group, Yang Zhihua, said that, "As the first white card project in China, the 'Phoenix Project' is crucial to solving the hardware and software decoupling needs and building an open network. Its success requires the response and participation of large-scale Chinese first-class enterprises. The action of Gigalight in the "Phoenix Project" mirrors the enthusiasm and strength of Chinese communications industry."
